Tips for learning Spanish
- Listen to your teacher in class
- Take down notes
- Try to use as much Spanish as you can in class
- Always do your Spanish homework
- If you were absent, check Mrs. Urbano's
website for any homework or tests that you need to be prepared for when you
return to school, or ask/call a classmate to find out
- Always bring your Spanish binder, book
and activity book to class
- Go over what you see in class for 5 minutes every day
- Practice the Spanish you know with a family member or
friend
- Read sentences aloud to practice pronunciation and to
memorize phrases
- Write words down twice or three times to learn how to spell them
- Highlight verb endings and accent marks
- Highlight or underline words that you are having a
hard time remembering
- Using index cards, make flashcards with
the Spanish word on one side and the English equivalent on the other.
Illustrate your flashcards when possible. Have somebody quiz you
- Using flashcards, create a simple
memory game in Spanish and play to learn
- If you have internet access, visit the websites
recommended under links
- Listen to music in Spanish
- Watch a movie with Spanish/English subtitles
- Have a positive attitude towards Spanish, it’s fun to
learn a new language!!
