In order to maximize an optimal learning environment, please review the following expectations and procedures.

Expectations:

The teacher expects the students to:

·         Be on time for class

·         Be courteous and respectful to both the teacher and other students

·         Conduct themselves properly in and outside of the classroom (including language)

·         Do homework to the best of their abilities

·         Put effort into Spanish

·         Stay on task

·         Be ready to participate

·         See the teacher immediately if extra help is needed

·         Bring all materials to class (binder, books, 3-hole punched paper, pencil, pen, etc)

·         Take care of the materials to be used in class: no scribbling, no tearing pages, etc.

·         Not socialize excessively in class, i.e., talk too much!

·         Not leave a mess in the classroom

·         Be responsible for making up any quizzes/tests or homework missed because of an absence

Procedures:

-Binder: Students are required to keep their Spanish binders neat, organized and free of any irrelevant writing. The binder must be divided into sections for handouts, quizzes and tests and must have 3-hole punched paper.  Binders must be complete, since students are going to use them to study for tests. The binders will be checked from time to time.

-Homework: Homework assignments will be given periodically. They may consist of workbook exercises and will pertain to the day’s lesson. Therefore, students should not encounter any problems in completing the assignments. Sometimes the only homework a student will have will be to study for an upcoming quiz or test or to work on a project.

-Quizzes and Tests: Mini quizzes will be given to check on the students’ progress. Tests will be given when necessary, according to the amount of material covered. I will let students know in advance when these quizzes or tests will be.

-Grades: grades will be based on a total point scale. Points come from quizzes, tests, homework and classroom participation. For grading scale, see Parent/Teacher Handbook.

This signed copy of the expectations and procedures MUST BE 3-HOLE PUNCHED AND KEPT IN SPANISH BINDER.
