Some Sounds in Spanish
* In Spanish, "H" is silent. Except when used with c, like "Chucho" (sound like in English).
* The letter "Ñ" sounds like "ny" together, like in "niño".
* The sound of "LL" is the same as the "J" in "Jane".
*The letter "Y" sounds like "g" in "ginger",
(except when it is alone as a conjuction or at the end of a word, will sound like "ee" Ex. "Romeo y Julieta")
*All vowels have only one sound in Spanish.
A-sounds like the one in RAT,
E-sounds like the one in BED,
I-sounds like the “ee”in FEET,
O-sounds like de one in ROCK,
U-sounds like the one in BULL.
Note to Parents: I have a list of all the available books in Spanish in St. Regis Library. Send an email, I'll send it back to you.
